When lightning hit a huge dead oak tree near our home, the elcttriciey was out for almost 24 hours. I have about 1,000 oz of breast milk in our deep freezer. My little girl has a heart defect and hasn't been able to nurse, but gets breast milk only that I have pumped for her. I'm a nurse and had to work all day and I felt so sick and helpless at work I drove my husband crazy calling him all day and having him cover the freezer in blankets. Luckily only a couple bags on the top began to thaw by the time the power came back. I was a mess thinking of losing all that milk that is so special for my sick little baby.
