Because they at least tried . It was much more exciting for us ( at the time ) yontgsuers to see real ma guys to try to be an actors ( Norris , Yamashita , Lundgren , Seagal ,Kosugi ) then nowadays actors to play an act with help of camera and cgi . Sure , back then the acting was kind of wooden but we did not care . Today movies are more flashy , have more effects are more spectacular , but i would not say that they are better at all . They look too profesionally made , it lacks certain rough edgery . I can almost feel those producer advisors figuring pros and cons of what will be most profitable , calculating ratings and changing the story accordingly . It lacks heart , yes . What disappoints me most is the fact that im no longer in my 20`s and thats the biggest flaw ever .LOL
