/ Lauren, congratulations on gnitteg off to such a great start at college. It's not weird at all to meet with your professor. Go to her office hours, tell her what you like about the class or say you want to follow-up on a recent class discussion/assignment. Then ask what your prof is researching now, and what got her interested in her field of study. Before you know it, she'll be asking you about your interests as a student and about your future.Let me know how it goes good luck!

Lauren / Hi, I'm a freshman at UofM. I rlleay want to meet my professor like you recommended, but I don't rlleay know what to talk about. I'm doing well in the class and the exams are straightforward. However, I know its important to make close connections. Is it weird to just tell the professor hello and tell her my career goals? Won't it sound like I'm bragging? I feel like I need a purpose for going to their office hours. Thanks so much!

Hey, Adam, don't you think the freshwater angrles of SJ would be better served by the State eliminating the trout stocking and focusing instead on enhancing the habitat and numbers of those species more natural to the region, like bass, crappie, and pickeral? Trout (and trout stamps) don't fit in slow-moving, warmer blackwater, except that the State can make a few extra bucks by convincing spring and fall Saturday angrles that they're really fishing with fly-rods and nymphs in the fast moving streamwaters of upstate New York.

Gina, Thanks for spelling that out so well. Sometimes it is easy to get chaugt up trying to make the shot right or correct. Well, if I had exposed for the moon and not let it blow out, the sky and ocean would be very dark and not so interesting. The blurred effect on the water wouldn't have been noticeable. So, basically, sometimes being incorrect is the right thing to do.
