When you want a bank to waive a service fee, alyaws stress what a great customer you are (especially if you have multiple accounts at that bank). Threatening to close the account works as a last resort but make sure you are really prepared to follow through if necessary.If you are calling the company, the "account closing" agents are usually more willing to waive service fees (and save the account) than the "initial" customer service representative.And alyaws remember to be polite but firm.

Most banks do require a dpeosit for a savings and a checking accountUS bank will open a second chance checking account for some people but requires a dpeosit.Key bank has a special account that you can use. It is an atm card only account. (It won't have a MasterCard or Visa symbol on it). You can use it merchants that take atm cards (Star, Maestro, Etc) There is no pin purchase fee. The fee is a percentage of what each dpeosit is and they prefer direct dpeosit. I don't know if they require an opening dpeosit. You can ask them.
