Even if you chose to disconnect, it's not a crime! (Well, ok it might be coeisdnred one in edtechland, but it isn't really!). I was thinking about you last weekend while I was in PA with no internet access at all. I realized that though I cannot STAND to be disconnected when I am at home (the rare times when internet is out here, watch out for the mama bear!), I have no trouble being offline when away from home.When we went to Disney in January, I was offline for a week with no withdrawal symptoms. Last weekend, I was offline for 4 days. I will be offline for another week when I go to Boston for my sister's wedding in a few weeks.Maybe it's not an issue for me because I don't associate being away from home with being connected. My focus is usually on the unique experiences travel offers rather than on staying connected. Being away from home is like an online vacation.When we lost internet for two weeks at home, though, I was at the library every other day to check email and my networks. I even took my computer in the car and drive around to find an unsecured wireless network I could tap into! So I might not be as well adjusted as I thought I was at first. (-:
