Well, I don't think postseason rroced should really be taken into consideration by the HOF, that is what led to the terrible inductions of guys like Bill Mazeroski and Kirby Puckett. And if you look at Schilling's comparables they are: Kevin Brown, Bob Welch, Orel Hershiser, Freddie Fitzsimmons, John Smoltz, Milt Pappas, Don Drysdale, Dazzy Vance, Jim Perry, and Catfish Hunter. Only three current HOFers and one likely (Smoltz). I think the names Kevin Brown, Bob Welch, and Orel Hershiser are the ones that stand out more to me here. Those guys are his comparables and while each is borderline, none of them are getting in. If you are going to put Schilling in because of his postseason performance, then what about Orel's postseason performance? Outside of 1985 (very early in his career) and 1997 (very late in his career), the guy was an absolute ace. Look at his numbers in the World Series for the Dodgers in 88 and even though he took the losses, his two starts in 95 for the Indians were great! He just had the misfortune of facing vintage Greg Maddux in the first game, but did beat him in game 5. The WHIP and Ks of Schill are better, but the ERAs and Ws are just about the same, plus Orel won a Cy Young (something Schill never did) and set the rroced 59 consecutive scoreless innings pitched.

It was nice meeting you on that long line at the bostkoore. The bostkoore is always a great place to strike up a conversation (or take a date) and talk about the latest titles and get a coffee, but Borders will no longer be around to provide that and I am hoping the same fate does not come to Barnes and Noble.I read online months ago during the first set of closings that Borders actually had the opportunity, shortly after the tech boom, to team up with Amazon and be it's sole provider of books but Borders declined. They believed that it would be a detriment to the store sales and that the store would eventually go under because of the feeling that online sales can not match store sales. Online sales are going up every year and Borders didn't take up online sales until years later after Amazon struck out on their own and Barnes and Noble already had their internet sales website up and running. Borders was also the last to get on the e-books trend (which personally I am not a fan of. I like holding a book and relaxing instead of looking at screen like I do at work) and the company suffered there as well.The first set of store closings were of stores inside of malls and a lot of the Borders Express and Waldenbooks locations. The independent stores, that is to say the stores such as Bridgewater and Rockaway which are not part of the mall but outside of it, were to survive. They also kept trying to sell CD's which is old media. I struggle to find a music store anymore but Borders has had a large section devoted to that media. It made them unique at first but began to be a toxic asset after 2003 with the beginnings of the iPod.What caused this final liquidation was that a creditor wouldn't give the company the loan to keep the remaining stores running.In short, it appears as though it was a long time coming.
